While wandering around the city, I realized that there were many bars and restaurants, but very few of them were located inside a park, and almost none of them focused on integrating nature. Therefore, I came up with my own idea.
Even though the coffee shop concept is located in the center of the capital, being inside feels like entering another realm in a different timeline, a bubble filled with nature, away from the noise of the city. Its façade is made of oxidized metal, and its playful, apparently random design suggests the idea of accepting the passage of time and commemorating it, reminding us of our roots and our childhood.
There are five different areas to cater to every need and preference: the main area for ordering, sitting, and also picking up a book; the interior garden with swings and entrances into the other closed and more intimate areas; the front exterior area with benches; and the amphitheater.
Most of the time, the sense of smell is overlooked during the process of creating a space, even though it is one of the six senses and can trigger a wide range of emotions and memories. I think it is even more important when talking about a coffee shop. So, in order to describe the area as comprehensively as possible, I drew a smell map of the building’s surroundings.
